Charles Pope graduated Summa Cum Laude and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He went on to attend and receive his Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law, one of the most prestigious law schools in the country and highly regarded for its Judeo/Christian philosophy and strong emphasis on trial practice competence. During his third year, Charles Pope was awarded the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association's Trial Advocacy award. Mr. Pope is licensed to practice law in both state and Federal courts in Tennessee. He has participated in approximately forty jury trials in state and federal courts and has an impeccable trial record. He has successfully defended, on behalf of his individual and corporate clients, against claims totaling more than thirty five million dollars. He has represented civil clients in matters ranging from civil rights claims to property disclosure issues. Charles Pope attended six district attorney general conferences while working as an assistant district attorney general in the 10th Judicial District and completed the comprehensive and highly respected career prosecutor course. In his private practice, he was awarded the status of Honor Corps. for his pro bono participation as an affiliate attorney with the Alliance Defense Fund. He is a highly competent Constitutional Attorney, who has received training in 28 U.S.C. sec. 1983 litigation and has appeared on Fox News and in nationally syndicated publications in conjunction with his work on high profile cases. In the area of criminal law, having experience on both sides of the aisle, he has successfully prosecuted and defended criminal defendants charged with offenses ranging from corporate embezzlement to homicide. He has been nominated and is participating in the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law program. Charles Pope is welcoming new clients at The Pope Law Offices located in Athens, Tennessee. His office handles estate planning, civil litigation, and criminal defense.
